DANCEHALL KING SAMINI TO HOST TWO INTERNATIONAL ARTISTES SOON

Africa’s definition to dancehall music and Ghana’s own proud son Samini has disclosed that this year he will be hosting two international artistes at different times within the year before the 2012 elections.
The artiste, who supported  the movement of Jamaican dancehall super star Mavado live in Ghana last year, is optimistic that in 2012 fans of dancehall music should get ready as Samini music plans to go higher and bigger as we await two other Jamaican super stars on the mother land.

Samini said: ‘music is for the fans, so this year I want all fans of Samini and dancehall music to help us select which favorite dancehall artiste they want to see in the country. Fans can do so by visiting his facebook page- SAMINI and Twitter page – Samini_dagati, and kindly suggest the names there.
He maintained: ‘fans should not be limited to any names, they should go all out, Samini music seeks the well being and happiness of fans hence this two dancehall shows are for the fans’.
In his last statement the king of African dancehall said he has a lined up of Europe and USA tours but he will do so after the High grade family completes Stone Bouy’s tour in the country, so fans should watch out for that one.
The journey to host two international artistes is on kind courtesy Samini music hence fans should await that big show hopefully to be held at the Sports Stadium.

Jon Germain mentioned: ‘the new album has 15 songs on it, some international collaborations (I have two UK artistes on it), some local artistes are on it as well and to climax it there is a plan to have the Pop chain tour with other musicians who do pop music in the country.

Talking about how music has feed with him so far, the pop artiste revealed that he was signed to an international label that later died out a month after he was signed but he is still hopeful that in the future other international labels will be interested in his job.
He noted: ‘ there is a guy on my twitter page who tweets my songs and any time he does that I get foreign DJs across the world asking me whether I am in the states or not but I tell them I am based in Ghana, so hey who knows what will come out tomorrow.
On the issue of his challenging moments ever since he released his first pop single, Jon said, ‘it is painful when your own people think you did not sing your own songs, for me that is one big challenge I had to deal with but now it ok with me because if someone can doubt me of my own work it means it is that good for him to doubt hence the challenge is now like a complement’.
What’s new with Jon Germain as we asked him and the ace broadcaster on Allo tigo who doubles as a pop singer added, I have released my new single called ‘ Tell Me’, already the response is amazing and so I want fans to listen to it on their local radio station and enjoy it.
Jon was grateful for all the support granted him by all DJs, friends in the media, fans and everybody,  keep on supporting Jon Germain.

Blakk Rasta Eyes Ministerial Position?

Outspoken reggae musician and radio presenter Blakk Rasta, has said on Koforidua-based Vision 90.9FM’s entertainment analysis programme, ”Arts and People” that he was ever prepared to take a ministerial portfolio from any government that approached him.

Speaking to host Kwame Dadzie who sought to know if he would accept an offer from any government to be the Minister for Arts and Entertainment (should it be created), he said he was more than competent to be a minister. ”Yes, my brother, I would not mind doing it at all because I can do it and do it well. I am looking forward to such opportunity so I can use my position to influence the lot of ignorant souls we have in this country especially the youth”, Blakk said.

However, he was quick to add that he would accept such a portfolio if there is not going to be partisan strings attached. ”I have always not liked to be involved in partisan politics because it is dirty, and that is why I would not take such a position on partisan grounds. I would want to operate from my consciousness without restrictions from any one”, he added.

Asked if the award given him by Ghana Music Awards organizers Charterhouse, for his ”Miss Right” as Best Reggae Song of the Year would keep his mouth zipped on issues about Charterhouse and their music awards, he responded that no one could bribe him with an award and was ready to criticize if he is convinced that his criticism was warranted and sound.

Blakk Rasta said that if the organizers decided to ban him for three years for bashing them and have now come to their senses to lift the ban, he just had to take the award, for after all he deserved it.
