I get intimidated when asked to act nude – Portia Asare Boateng

Actress Portia Asare Boateng has said due to her religious background and views, she constantly gets intimidated when she is asked to act nude.

The actress who was speaking on Day Break Hitz on Hitz FM Wednesday did not mince words in saying she is a staunch Christian who finds it difficult playing such roles since it is in clear contrast to her religious believes.

Portia affirmed that, “I get intimidated when they ask me to play roles like nude…that is what makes it challenging for me.”

Insisting further that she gets nervous whenever she is asked to play such roles, “It’s basically about my Christian life because I am a Christian and I love the things of God so even though as an actress you have to be versatile, you have to be able to do everything, when it comes to such roles, I get shaken, I get nervous.”

As much as she ends up playing those roles, she sometimes engages the producer or the directors of the movies to reach a consensus and possibly adjust the scene or the ‘nude’ role.

These roles, Portia however revealed, will not make her quit a very profitable industry. “Not at all…it has become part of me now, I only want to get to the top but I wouldn’t want to stop” adding that it is financially rewarding.

The Ghanaian movie industry today, she hinted, is growing but was quick to advise upcoming actors to, “Learn from the old actors and actresses because they’ve been there and they’ve come far,” adding that they should not only aim at popularity.

She has been in the industry for more than a decade now and is very synonymous with local movies starring in countless number of them.

Portia stars in Kwaw Ansah’s latest production, The Good Old Days – Papa Lasisi Good Bicycle, playing the role of Maame Mansa, a mother and wife of Joe E Mensah.

The Good Old Days – Papa Lasisi Good Bicycle tells the story of Papa Lasisi a Lagotian petty trader who is popularly known in the community as a shrewd businessman. Every penny in his world counts and would therefore not discount a penny.

It is when the daring children of Joe E Mensah attempt to outwit Papa Lasisi on hiring his bicycle that people realize the extent of Papa Lasisi’s shrewdness.

This film features the likes of Psalm Ajetefio, Jackson Davis, Fred Amugi, and others. The lead role is however played by three boys, Aaron Adatsi, Michael Owusu Afriyie and Samuel Obeng, who were all part of the first episode.

The movie premieres April 23 at the National Theatre.

Baby Says $100 Mill Is A Low Estimated Worth

Cash Money Records co-owner slash founder, Birdman (aka Baby) recently responded to Forbes Magazine ranking him in their Top 5 Wealthiest Rap Artists list, adding that the financial company gave a low-estimate for his earnings. Despite being credited with a estimated worth of $100-million-dollars, Birdman says that he easily makes more than that.

"I don't know how they tally up," Baby said in an interview with Uptown Angela referring to Forbes' list."To my knowledge I thought it was down. They said I made a $100 million dollars. I don't know where they get that sh*t from. I'm banking in more than a $100 million. That's a low number for a n*gga like me. But it's cool. For anybody to recognize anything is respected. We know what to do. The goal in our life and my life is to be a billionaire. I'm flipping hundreds. I ain't that far. I'm about eight steps." (Urban Radio NO)
