Samini is a grown up and must behave as such – Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale
Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale formerly known as Bandana has described High Grade Family artist Samini as a grown up and must behave as such.

Breaking the silence on the unending feud that seems to get most entertainment pundits worried on E Talk, an entertainment TV Show hosted by Amanda Jissih, Shatta Wale disclosed he has always respected Samini and even gave a hearty apology live on stage during the BASS Awards just to make peace with the said artist only to be hit with another diss song.

Asked why he would not turn a deaf ear to some of the issues and diss songs targeted at him and would reply such comments with songs within a short while, he answered saying; I reply such songs with the same swiftness as a lion would when its tail is stepped upon. I am a straight foraward person and I speak my mind just as others do.

Speaking of possible ways of solving the feud, Shatta Wale disclosed he finds it disturbing for the industry and only wished Samini would behave maturely, in such ways the feud would be solved.

When you have a musician who doesn’t want you to eat and will tell event organizers not to put you on the same show, that is bad. If you don’t want me to eat, then I will make sure you also don’t eat!!

Meanwhile, attempts are being made by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) to resolve the feud between the two biggest dancehall artists in Ghana at the moment.

Samini stings Shatta Wale at Guinness Eruption Concert

Samini performing at the Big Eruption
Rising music sensation, Shatta Wale left many of his fans livid after he failed to live up to the challenge of the durable Samini at the Guinness Eruption Concert Saturday night at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Recent developments between the two dancehall musicians had turned the high energy event meant to outdoor Guinness’ new packaging into an unvoiced Dancehall "Who is Who" on the local front, and when it mattered most, it was Samini who, like old wine, tasted better.
The two were the last two performing acts on the night that also featured the silky-voiced Akon, Big Sean, Wande Coal, EL and a couple others, with the period preceding their performances witnessing Shatta’s fans out-shouting their ‘opponents’ in response to MC, Bola Ray’s calls for who the fans wanted to see perform.
‘Shat-t-a Waleeee!!!’ they had responded, with some even suggesting Samini should be side-lined for the night.
But when he mounted the stage, Samini was his masterful self, blending and transiting his acts through one music genre after another - highlife, reggae, rap, hip-hop and all. He deliberately taunted his compatriot, sending Wale messages to bide his time, show respect, focus on himself and measure his competition.
And he had an enterprising stagecraft, as usual, to boot as he wriggled his way through songs like Time Bomb, Linda, Sweet Mistake, Where My Baby Dey, Body Flame, Odo, Gyae Shi and Adult Music.
When it was time for Shatta to take the stage, he did it with a big bang, choosing to be ‘forklifted’ from among the stands onto the stage while riposting “we’re nat fear them”, responding directly to Samini’s taunts in a manner that forebode some unease.
He proceeded to sermonise about how he is not going to walk in anyone’s shadow; why he has no beef with anyone, and while he loves all and prays God’s blessings on all who love him, it is bumbaclot for all haters. He even enlisted his fans to repeat the ‘curse’, setting the stage for what was to be a fierce performance to outdo Samini.
That expectation was never met, for Shatta spent too much time responding to Samini's taunts, which also followed somewhat a delayed appearance, and by the time he started playing game, many were exiting the stands, disappointment engraved on their foreheads.
But the faithful stuck with him – singing and jumping along – with some proposing he would be better off focusing on his career than taking on Samini, whose live band style performances always endear him to any occasion.

Ronnie’s death is a blow to Ghana music- Murphy Rauf

Story: Mumuni Y Yunus
Entertainment Analyst, Ishaq Rauf (Murphy Rauf) says the death of member of sensational music group, Buk Bak, Ronnie Coaches is a big blow to the Ghana music industry.
Ronnie Coaches died Thursday morning at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra after a heart attack.
Late Ronnie Coaches
Buk Bak, known for several hit songs including 'Klu Brofo', 'Akwasi Broni' and 'Kolom', was versatile and rapped in Ga, Twi, and Pidgin, and was the first hip-life group in Ghana to make a successful career out of Ga music.
Speaking to metromixdrive, Murphy Rauf said the contribution of Ronnie to the music industry cannot be over emphasized.
“The death f Ronnie on the industry is a big blow, it will affect it a lot because a lot of artists would still have wanted to do tracks with him in particular. He had one of the best raggae style” Murphy Rauf suggested.
He fears Buk Bak as a group might collapse after the demise of Ronnie.
“His death will really affect the group because when they broke up and went solo, Bright came up with a track, it wasn’t a hit, Ronnie wasn’t popping up. So now that he [Ronnie] is gone forever, definitely it will affect the group.. I think Buk Bak will fall”.

Asem Joins Top African Artistes On “This Is Afrobeats” Mixtape

The return of Ghanaian Hiplife star, Asem onto active music scene is turning out to be stronger than was anticipated.
Asem

Asem has made it on the ‘THIS IS AFROBEATS’ MUSIC Compilation which also features some of the biggest superstars on the scene such as 2face, P-square, Naeto C, and 9ice.

The music compilation is made by a major pioneer of the new African music scene, BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Dj Edu. From the streets of Lagos, Nairobi, Accra, the UK & North America comes the musical genre that is
young vibrant and fresh called "Afrobeats".

The name stems from "Afrobeat" a powerful, raw and organic form of African music made popular in the 70's by Fela Kuti & Tony Allen.
"Afrobeats" can best be described as the sound of young Africa incorporating modern music & production techniques and fusing them with African sounds, melodies and rhythms.

"Afrobeats" is definitely here to stay, as a unique form of music full of colour, vibrance, independence with great dance moves to go with it and a whole continent behind it. This is not a Revolution. This is a Hostile Takeover.

Soon after the release of the ‘SOLID GROUND’ album, Asem has taken to work on many projects as well as working closely with the Ghana Library Board to improve reading skills of children.
